Cod rules!
I pulled today. It was good, took 8 keepers. I threw back at least 12-15 eggers and probably 15-20 shorts!
I love being down there this time of year. The grass is short, the air is nice and the no people. Also and most importantly NO BOATS!

Re: lobster reports
Funny thing is I used swordfish in half my traps a couple weeks ago and cod in the others. The cod did better that week by far. Hate to say I paid $5 for that shit too, all the cod was free! Been using cod since because it's all I can get at the moment. Working well for me Chuck

Hey Wayne, I'll be down tomorrow checking my gear too. I'll swing by when I'm done and say hi. Good luck! Dress warm, it should only be about 25-30° in the am

Re: lobster reports
It was pretty cold out today, it was nice! I only saw 1 other person. My numbers were cut in half, only 5a today but that's still good. Still lots of eggers and shorts around too
Wayne, I went down earlier than normal so no one was up your way. I'll catch ya next time

Funny, guy near us almost had his limit the other day. 14 bugs! I'm curious to see what mojo has, he hasn't checked in a while....

Re: lobster reports
You have a Good Spot,Currents must be slower In that area,Lobby,s will feed during slack. If water currant is slowed up in youre spot more time for Bugs to look for food.If in my area, water is always moving,no obstructions slowing down water,I have a smaller window of feeding time.

Re: lobster reports
Well, gotta remember lottsa times as the tide rises the current will slack of somewhat down below.......Mid part of the tide most water moves.....the rule of twelve is a good rule of thumb to go by as far as moving tidal water goes......
first hour of tide = 1/12 of the tide moves
second hour of tide = 2/12 of the tide moves
third hour of tide = 3/12 of the tide moves
fourth hour of tide = 3/12 of the tide moves
fifth hour of tide = 2/12 of the tide moves
sixth hour of tide = 1/12 of the tide moves
Top and bottom of the tide the least amount of water moves......middle of the tide it roars..........
first hour of tide = 1/12 of the tide moves
second hour of tide = 2/12 of the tide moves
third hour of tide = 3/12 of the tide moves
fourth hour of tide = 3/12 of the tide moves
fifth hour of tide = 2/12 of the tide moves
sixth hour of tide = 1/12 of the tide moves

Re: lobster reports
Love those big clawed male's.....the claw meat is incredible.....btw, I think I broke 3-4 sets of crackers this year.....The quality of the canal lobster is very good......Although the best tasting lobster I ever caught came from buzzards bay in the late spring/early summer.....they were very sweet lobsters........
