lobster reports

nice rob ,, i era yesterday , 7 traps one keeper ,, im seriously considering haning it up if may does not pan out im going on to something else , working my area for the last 3 yrs has been fun , but alot of work for a little pay out !!!!

try moving your gear around a little or maybe even a different spot in the ditch........

went and rebaited yesterday all my nice new clean traps that ive been changing out last few weeks , to find them coverd with that slime seaweed man looks like they have been in there for months,,this week im trying a combo bait mach, pogies, with some cod heads ,, hoping this will get somthing going ,,,i did walk away with a few tasty bugs ,,, i also picked up off craigslist 6 rod and reels yesterday for 50 bucks ,, all vintage , a penn 149deep sea, a penn 155 casting reel, a penn65 long beach, a penn 60 long beach , all on vintage allnys rods,also fresh water heddon 215 spinning reel on a lucky13 heddon rod , and a fresh water garcia mitchel spinng reel ,on a whitmore glass rod ,all for 50 bucksi have to do some research on them clean them up and sell them .thought it was a good score for the price, does anyone know anything about these reels?

Don't really know about the rods but those reels really are oldies but goodies....They all have slow retrieves however.....the 155 casts well and penn long beachs were staple reels for many years back in the 60's and 70's.....give em' a good clean and oil them and they will serve you well....you got a good deal.......

Good to see ya yesterday Chuck! If you decide to move come try down by me, we've got room for about 5 traps between us. I'm still thinking on how to deal with the idiot who dumped his pots on me, friggin idiot! I'll call it now, he'll reset both of them thinking he was poached. (i put his gear up in the grass)

thanks mike i mite take you up on that ,,next is bottle in trap or go there often to do a face to face alot of guys dont even understand how it works ,,, and by the looks of things with the rack of ribs ,, i would say he does not ,,,

Checked my traps this afternoon......still doing ok....saw alot of bait in the water......a small pod of pogies swam by me not 3 feet away....gave a tautog to a couple of young guys who had caught a couple of small keepers down ding dong rd earlier in the day......guess it's about time to start bass fishing again

Checked This AM. 5-6,Got 0. Alot of small Bait Fish in the trap,Stripers are Back,Good to see I have a chance at Something. Good Catch Rob,Great Area.

checked gear sat got a couple hugh crabs in one trap and some nice winter flounder ,, that i hacked all to shit trying to filet it ,, one of these days ill get the hang of it , nice catch rob,,,

I would not want to try to cut up a Flounder.

I love winter flounder and I am good at cutting them.......

well pulled 8 traps yesterday ,,, 2 flounder 2 crabs 0 lobster ,,, great bait ,, all nice bluefish , and poogies ,,,

Checked my gear this past saturday.......still managing to get a few....I made a big load of lobster salad and gave it away.......

Rob,Good to hear from you,have not seen or heard from you for a short time. Checking tomorrow morning-6/9/12 Hope for some good #'s

fished some this am and checked gear things are picking up for sure ,,numbers way up and lobys in every trap

Glad to Hear Sharky,I,m Getting Nothing.Caught a good sized Taug. Thats It. Going Camping / Fishing next week. will be Down 21,22,23.Hope to get some Fish,Crabs,Lobsters,Something!
